§ 28-14-16 Compelling obedience tosubpoenas. – In case of failure of any person to comply with any lawfully issued subpoena,or subpoena duces tecum, or on the refusal of any witness to testify to anymatter regarding which he or she may be lawfully interrogated, it shall be theduty of the superior court, or any judge of that court, on application by thedirector, to compel obedience by proceedings in the nature of those forcontempt.
