SECTION 28-29-18

   § 28-29-18  Minors deemed sui juris –Claim of common law rights. – A minor working at an age legally permitted under the laws of this state shallbe deemed sui juris for the purpose of chapters 29 – 38 of this title andno other person shall have any cause of action or right to compensation for aninjury to that minor employee except as expressly provided in those chapters;but if that minor has a parent living or a guardian, that parent or guardian,as the case may be, may give the notice and file a copy of it as provided by§ 28-29-17, and that notice shall bind the minor in the same manner thatadult employees are bound under the provisions of chapters 29 – 38 of thistitle. In case no notice is given, the minor shall be held to have waived hisor her right of action at common law to recover damages for personal injuries.
