SECTION 28-3-20

   § 28-3-20  Penalty for violationsgenerally. – Except as otherwise specifically provided, any person or corporation who: (1)employs a child under sixteen (16) years of age without the permit required by§ 28-3-3, (2) makes a false statement in regard to any part required bythe certificate, (3) violates any of the provisions of §§ 28-3-1– 28-3-20, or suffers or permits any child to be employed in violation oftheir provisions, shall be fined five hundred dollars ($500) for each offenseprovided, however, that if a child employed in violation of the provisions of§§ 28-3-1 – 28-3-20 is injured or killed in the course of theemployment, then the above fine may be increased to five thousand dollars($5,000); and, provided further, however that this section does not apply tothat portion of § 28-3-6 which fixes the penalty for the refusal to showto the inspector any certificate provided for in that section.
