SECTION 28-37-30

   § 28-37-30  Cost of living increase. –(a) Payments made to injured employees pursuant to § 28-37-8 shall beincreased effective May 10 of each year by an amount equal to the totalpercentage increase in the most recently published annual consumer price index,United States city average for urban wage earners and clerical workers, asformulated and computed by the bureau of labor statistics of the United Statesdepartment of labor for the period March 1 to February 28 each year. An injuredemployee must be in receipt of benefit payments pursuant to § 28-37-8 fora period of at least twelve (12) consecutive months to be eligible for theannual increase.

   (b) This section shall apply to all existing and futureclaims for reimbursement pursuant to § 28-37-8.

   (c) The computations in subsection (a) of this section shallbe made by the director and promulgated to insurers making payments required bythis chapter.
