§ 31-13-9 - Flashing signals.

SECTION 31-13-9

   § 31-13-9  Flashing signals. – Whenever an illuminated flashing red or yellow signal is used in a traffic signor signal it shall require obedience by vehicular traffic as follows:

   (1) Flashing red (stop signal). When a red lens isilluminated with rapid intermittent flashes, drivers of vehicles shall stopbefore entering the nearest crosswalk at an intersection or at a limit linewhen marked, or, if none, then before entering the intersection, and the rightto proceed shall be subject to the rules applicable after making a stop at astop sign.

   (2) Flashing yellow (caution signal). When a yellowlens is illuminated with rapid intermittent flashes, drivers of vehicles mayproceed through the intersection or past the signal only with caution.

   (3) Flashing green (pedestrian signal). When a greenlens is illuminated with rapid intermittent flashes, drivers of vehicles mayproceed through the intersection or crosswalk past the signal only with caution.

   (4) Violations of this section are subject to finesenumerated in § 31-41.1-4.
