§ 35-4-17 - Central cancer registry and prevention fund.

SECTION 35-4-17

   § 35-4-17  Central cancer registry andprevention fund. – There is hereby created and established in the state treasury a fund to beknown as the "central cancer registry and prevention fund", to which shall bedeposited the revenues derived from the tax imposed in former §44-20-13.1, repealed in 1986. All money now or hereafter in the central cancerregistry and prevention fund are hereby dedicated for the purpose of theestablishment of a continuous cancer registry and prevention program. Thedepartment of health is charged with the administration of this fund for thepurposes specified in this section. The amount of money credited to the centralcancer registry and prevention fund shall not exceed four hundred thousanddollars ($400,000) per fiscal year, and any moneys in excess thereof derivedfrom this tax shall be credited to the general fund. All claims against thefund shall be examined, audited, and allowed in the manner now or hereafterprovided by law for claims against the state.
