§ 42-12-25 - Child care training, accreditation, technical assistance, and monitoring.

SECTION 42-12-25

   § 42-12-25  Child care training,accreditation, technical assistance, and monitoring. – (a) The general assembly shall annually appropriate to the department of humanservices such funds as it deems necessary to enable the department to assistproviders in obtaining national accreditation, to expand child care staffdevelopment and training, and for technical assistance and monitoring,including but not limited to, activities which provide:

   (i) Training opportunities for child care providers whichfoster a coordinated link between the providers and the schools;

   (ii) Specialized training for providers of infant/toddlerand/or pre-adolescent care;

   (iii) Evaluation of child care providers and programs throughparent surveys and formal evaluation techniques;

   (iv) Technical assistance and training for current andprospective non-English speaking providers.

   (b) The director of the department of human services isfurther authorized to request such appropriation for each state fiscal year ashe or she deems necessary to carry out the programs and purposes of thissection.
