§ 42-8.1-6 Personnel and services. –(a) The secretary of state is authorized to select, appoint and employ suchunclassified officers and employees, as are necessary to perform the functionsof the archivist and the division.
(b) The secretary of state is authorized to obtain theservices of experts and consultants as necessary for the performance of thefunctions of the archivist and the division.
(c) The state archivist, in carrying out the functions of thearchivist or the division, is authorized to utilize the services of officials,officers, and other personnel in other agencies of the state and its politicalsubdivisions, with the consent of the head of the agency concerned.
(d) The state archivist is authorized to accept and utilizevoluntary and uncompensated services.
