SECTION 45-44-11
§ 45-44-11 Responsibilities and duties ofboard. – The board is empowered and has the duty and responsibility to:
(1) Review and publicize, by newspaper advertising or someother effective method, the availability of homestead program properties.
(2) Accept and review applications and determine thequalifications of applicants within the criteria established by this chapterand the regulations promulgated under this chapter.
(3) Approve and certify applicants with a view towardscompatibility of the applicant and the parcel assigned to him or her.
(4) Approve and recommend the execution, by the dulyauthorized officer of the city or town, of a conditional deed to the assignedparcel upon the applicant being approved.
(5) Approve and recommend the execution, by the dulyauthorized representative of the city or town, of all documents necessary toconvey fee simple title to the assigned parcel to the applicant upon theapplicant's fulfillment of all conditions enumerated in § 45-44-4.
(6) Accept any real property donated to the city or townwhich qualifies or is eligible for rehabilitation under the homestead program.
