SECTION 45-48.1-2
§ 45-48.1-2 Composition of board. –Except as otherwise provided in this chapter, the powers of the district shallbe exercised by a board of three (3) members, each of whom shall be a residentof the district. These members shall be appointed by the town administrator ofthe town, subject to approval by the town council. The members shall beappointed and serve in office for terms of one, two (2), and three (3) years,respectively. Thereafter, the members shall be appointed for a term of three(3) years or, in the case of an appointment to fill a vacancy, for theunexpired term, and until his or her successor is appointed and qualified. Amember shall hold office until his or her successor has been appointed andqualified. Any member of the board shall be eligible for reappointment. Anymember of the board may be removed by the town council at any time for causeshown. No vacancy in the membership of the board shall impair the right of aquorum to exercise the powers of the district. Two (2) members of the boardshall constitute a quorum and the affirmative vote of two (2) members shall benecessary for any action taken by vote of the board. Any such action shall takeeffect immediately unless otherwise provided and need not be published orposted.
