SECTION 5-29-13

   § 5-29-13  Limited registrations. –(a) An applicant for limited registration under this chapter who furnishes thedivision of professional regulation of the department of health withsatisfactory proof that the applicant is eighteen (18) years of age or olderand of good moral character, that the applicant has creditably completed notless than two (2) years of study in a legally chartered podiatry school that isaccredited by the Council on Podiatric Medical Education of the AmericanPodiatric Medical Association having power to grant degrees in podiatry, andthat the applicant has been appointed an intern, resident, fellow, or podiatryofficer in a hospital or other institution maintained by the state, or by acity or town, or in a hospital or clinic which is incorporated under the lawsof this state or in a clinic which is affiliated with a hospital licensed bythe department of health, or in an out-patient clinic operated by the state,may, upon the payment of seventy dollars ($70.00), be registered by thedivision as a hospital officer for any time that the division prescribes. Thelimited registration entitles the applicant to practice podiatry in thehospital or other institution designated on his or her certificate of limitedregistration, or outside that hospital or other institution for the treatment,under the supervision of one of its medical officers who is a duly licensedphysician and/or podiatrist or persons accepted by it as patients, or in anyhospital, institution, clinic, or program affiliated for training purposes withthe hospital, institution, or clinic designated on the certificate, whichaffiliation is approved by the division of professional regulation and theCouncil of Podiatric Medical Education of the American Podiatric MedicalAssociation and in any case under regulations established by such hospital,institution, or clinic. Provided, that each hospital, institution, or clinicshall annually submit to the division of professional regulation a list ofaffiliated hospitals, institutions, clinics, or programs providing trainingprograms which comply with the terms of this section. Limited registrationunder this section may be revoked at any time by the division.

   (b) The division of professional regulation of the departmentof health may promulgate any rules and regulations that it deems necessary toeffect the provisions of this chapter.
