§ 6-36-24 - Suspension of limitation.

SECTION 6-36-24

   § 6-36-24  Suspension of limitation. –Whenever any civil or criminal proceedings shall be commenced by the state toprevent, restrain, or punish a violation of this chapter, the running of thestatute of limitations in respect of every private right of action arisingunder this chapter and based in whole or in part on any matter complained of inthe proceeding shall be suspended during the pendency of the action and for oneyear thereafter; provided, however, that whenever the running of the statute oflimitations in respect of a cause of action arising under either § 6-36-10or 6-36-11 or both shall be suspended under this section, any action to enforcethe section shall be forever barred unless commenced either within the periodof suspension or within four (4) years after the cause of action accrued,whichever is later.
