§ 6A-7-103 - Relation of chapter to treaty or statute.

SECTION 6A-7-103

   § 6A-7-103  Relation of chapter to treatyor statute. – (a) This chapter is subject to any treaty or statute of the United States orregulatory statute of this state to the extent the treaty, statute, orregulatory statute is applicable.

   (b) This chapter does not modify or repeal any lawprescribing the form or content of a document of title or the services orfacilities to be afforded by a bailee, or otherwise regulating a bailee'sbusiness in respects not specifically treated in this chapter. However,violation of such a law does not affect the status of a document of title thatotherwise is within the definition of a document of title.

   (c) This chapter modifies, limits, and supersedes the federalElectronic Signatures in Global and National Commerce Act (15 U.S.C. §7001, et. seq.) but does not modify, limit, or supersede § 101(c) of thatact (15 U.S.C. § 7001(c)) or authorize electronic delivery of any of thenotices described in § 103(b) of that act (15 U.S.C. § 7003(b)).

   (d) To the extent there is a conflict between R.I. Gen. Laws§§ 42-127.1-1 – 42-127.1-20 (the Uniform Electronic TransactionsAct) and this chapter, this chapter governs.
