Section 24-11A-4 - Location of facility.

24-11A-4. Location of facility. To receive funds under this chapter, an adult community corrections facility shall be sited in a location which meets the following minimum criteria as determined by the secretary:
(1) In or near a population center of at least eight thousand to ensure adequate community resources for the facility and its clients including potential staff, staff housing, client employment opportunities and resources for client education and counseling;
(2) Available education facilities including an accredited college, university, or technical school accessible to clients and facility staff;
(3) Available counseling and substance abuse facilities including a local mental health center or private equivalent, an accredited substance abuse treatment program and resources for client employment counseling;
(4) Located in a population center which has access to major highway systems with commercial ground and air service nearby;
(5) Sited in a community with fire protection services and adequate or expandable public utilities; and
(6) Access to an accredited, full service hospital recognized and licensed by the state.
