32-9-6. Application to county treasurer--Nonresidents--Contents of application--Violation as misdemeanor. Any person or corporation desiring to operate a motor vehicle, trailer, semitrailer as a motor carrier of persons or property on the public highways of this state shall, before beginning such operations, cause to be presented to the county treasurer of the county of which such applicant is a resident, if such applicant be a resident of this state, and if a nonresident, then to the county treasurer of any county through which such applicant may travel, except as provided for interstate carriers, an application upon forms to be furnished and provided by the Department of Revenue and Regulation. The application shall set forth the name of the manufacturer of such vehicle, the factory number, and engine number thereof, the model thereof, the desired gross weight classification or rated maximum seating capacity thereof, together with such other and additional information as the Department of Revenue and Regulation may deem necessary. A violation of this section is a Class 2 misdemeanor.
