33-17A-42. Priorities in appointment of conservator for veteran. Except as provided in § 33-17A-15, in the appointment of the conservator referred to in § 30-17A-41, the relatives in the following order shall be given preference if otherwise qualified: the widow or widower, the father or mother, the grandfather or grandmother, the sister or brother, and other relatives in the order of relationship. In all cases, however, the judge shall be satisfied that the applicant is fit and proper for such conservatorship.
