Section 34A-1-10 - Cooperation by department with other agencies.

34A-1-10. Cooperation by department with other agencies. The department may:
(1) Advise, consult, and cooperate with agencies of the state, local governments, industries, other states, interstate or interlocal agencies, and the federal government, and with interested persons or groups.
(2) Encourage local units of government to handle air pollution problems within their respective jurisdictions and on a cooperative basis, and to provide technical and consultative assistance therefor.
(3) Encourage voluntary cooperation by persons, or affected groups to achieve the purposes of this chapter.
(4) Consult, upon request, with any person proposing to construct, install, or otherwise acquire an air contaminant source or device or system for the control thereof, concerning the efficacy of such device or system, or the air pollution problem that may be related to the source, device or system. Nothing in any such consultation may be construed to relieve any person from compliance with this chapter, rules and regulations in force pursuant thereto, or any other provisions of law.
