46A-7A-173. Petition for election on discontinuance of district. If a majority of the electors representing a majority of the acres of irrigable land within the district petitions the board to call a special election to submit to the qualified electors of the district a proposition to vote on discontinuance of the district and settlement of its bonded and other indebtedness, the board shall call an election, setting forth the object of the election. The board shall publish notice of such election for a period of thirty days prior to the election, setting forth the time and place for holding the election in each of the voting precincts in the district. It also shall post a printed notice of such election in some conspicuous place in each voting precinct.
