58-3-9. Valuation of real estate involved in examination--Appraisers, appointment, prompt appraisal, report--Expense of appraisal, liability of person examined. If the director deems it necessary to value any real estate involved in any such examination, he may make written request of the person being examined to appoint one or more competent appraisers approved by the director, for the purpose of appraising such property. If no such appointment is made within ten days after such request is delivered to such person, the Department of Revenue and Regulation may appoint the appraiser or appraisers. Any such appraisal shall be made promptly, and a copy of the report thereof shall be furnished to the director. The reasonable expense of the appraisal shall be borne by the person being examined.
