§ 2604. State board of forests, parks, and recreation

(a) A state board of forests, parks, and recreation is established. The commissioner shall be the executive secretary. The state board shall advise the secretary and the commissioner on all matters relevant to the policies and administration of the agency and the department under this chapter and on all matters relating to community recreation programs including the allocation of state and federal funds for municipal recreation projects.

(b) The state board shall consist of five members appointed by the governor, with the advice and consent of the senate. The members of the board shall be appointed for terms of three years, or unexpired portions thereof, in such manner that no more than two terms shall expire in any one year. The governor shall biennially designate a member of the board to act as chairman. (Added 1977, No. 253 (Adj. Sess.), § 1; amended 1979, No. 159 (Adj. Sess.), § 13.)
