§ 7223. Sentences to pay fine

When a person over 16 years of age is convicted of an offense, except the offense of being found intoxicated, punishable by fine, or by fine or imprisonment and the court sentences such person to pay a fine and passes no other sentence, it shall further order that, if the sentence is not complied with within 24 hours, such person shall be imprisoned for as many days as the number of dollars or fractional part thereof to be paid by the sentence but not to exceed a maximum imprisonment of 60 days.
