§ 178. Record of sheriff's commission; copies; evidence

Such clerk shall record, in a book kept for that purpose, sheriffs' commissions with the oath of office indorsed thereon, and recognizances taken by the judges of the superior court, out of court, for the appearance of criminals confined in jail. In case of loss or destruction of an original commission or recognizance, a certified copy of the record may be used in court as evidence of the facts therein contained. (Amended 1973, No. 193 (Adj.
