§ 16.1-69.39:1. Legal service to district court employees and magistrates.

All legal services for personnel of the district courts or magistrates incivil matters, including civil litigation, arising out of the performance oftheir duties, shall be provided by the office of the Attorney General. If, inthe opinion of the Attorney General, it is impractical or uneconomical forsuch service to be rendered by his office, the Committee on District Courtsmay employ special counsel for such purpose, whose compensation shall befixed by the Committee. The compensation for such special counsel shall bepaid out of the funds appropriated for the administration of the districtcourts.
