§ 19.2-204. Penalties on officers and jurors for failure of duty.

A court whose officer fails without good cause, when it is his duty, tosummon a grand jury and return a list of its names shall fine him twentydollars. A person summoned and failing to attend a court as a grand jurorshall be fined by the court not less than five dollars nor more than twentydollars, unless, after being summoned to show cause against the fine, hegives a reasonable excuse for his failure.
