§ 2.2-2408. Powers and duties of Board.

The Board shall have the power and duty to:

1. Request and receive from any state department, division, board, bureau,commission or other agency, information, assistance and cooperation as willenable it to properly perform its duties;

2. Request, in the name of the Board, information for any governmental,public or private agency, or individual, information, assistance andcooperation as will enable it to carry out its specified functions;

3. Disperse information to public and private bodies;

4. Request and receive grants and funds from governmental, public and privateagencies and foundations and, with those funds, to enter into agreements andcontracts necessary or incidental to the purposes of the Board;

5. Establish citizen panels as may be requisite or expedient in fulfillingthe objectives of the Board; and

6. Request and receive, in the name of the Board and for its benefit and thatof the Interagency Migrant Worker Policy Committee, periodic reports frompersons or entities receiving federal grants or other federal funding for thepurpose of assisting the Commonwealth's migrant and seasonal farm workerpopulation.
