§ 29.1-556. Unlawful devices to be destroyed.

Any firearm, trap, net, or other device of any kind or nature for taking wildbirds, wild animals, or fish, except as specifically permitted by law, shallbe considered unlawful. Any person who violates the provisions of thissection shall be guilty of a Class 3 misdemeanor, and the device shall beforfeited to the Commonwealth. Nets, traps or other such devices, excludingfirearms, shall be destroyed by the conservation police officer if the owneror user of the device cannot be located within thirty days. Unlawful fixeddevices may be destroyed by the conservation police officer at the placewhere the devices are found.
