§ 29.1-575. Permits.
The Director shall permit the importation, possession, purchase, receipt, ortransportation of a nonindigenous aquatic nuisance species for purposes ofresearch by recognized academic institutions or government agencies uponreceiving satisfactory assurance that adequate safeguards will be maintainedto prevent the escape or introduction of any such species into theCommonwealth.
