§ 3.2-6038. Application and license fees; other costs.

A. Any person seeking to obtain a license to operate a shooting enclosureshall pay to the Department a one-time nonrefundable application fee to beestablished by the Department in an amount sufficient to cover the cost ofreviewing the application. The revenue generated by the fee shall be used todefray the costs of reviewing the application for a license. Upon approval ofthe application for a license, the applicant shall pay to the Department anannual license fee to be established by the Department in an amountsufficient to cover the costs of regulating the operation of such enclosures.Except in instances in which licenses are denied, suspended, or revoked, alllicenses shall expire on June 30 of each year. License fees collected by theDepartment shall be used to carry out its responsibilities to regulate theoperation of shooting enclosures.

B. The Department may recover from the licensee the actual costs incurred bythe Department for: (i) investigating the conditions of, examining, ordisposing of animals pursuant to this article; and (ii) apprehending animalsthat escape from a shooting enclosure.
