§ 38.2-809. What constitutes appointment of agent for service of process.

The clerk of the Commission shall be deemed to be appointed by any unlicensednonresident broker or agent as its agent for the service of process pursuantto § 13.1-758 if any of the following acts are effected by mail or otherwisein this Commonwealth by such unlicensed nonresident broker or agent: (i) theissuance or delivery of insurance contracts to residents of this Commonwealthor to corporations authorized to do business in this Commonwealth, (ii) thesolicitation of applications for such contracts, (iii) the collection ofpremiums, membership fees, assessments or other considerations for suchcontracts, or (iv) the transaction of any other insurance business inconnection with such contracts.
