§ 54.1-201.1. Issuance of temporary licenses and certifications.

A. Notwithstanding any other provision of law, the regulatory boards withinthe Department of Professional and Occupational Regulation may issue atemporary license or certification to any applicant who holds a comparablelicense or certification issued by another state, provided (i) the license orcertificate is valid, (ii) the applicant is in good standing with theregulatory entity that issued the license or certification, and (iii) theapplicant simultaneously submits a completed application for a Virginialicense or certification.

B. Any person who receives a temporary license or certification pursuant tothis section shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the issuing regulatoryboard.

C. Any license or certification issued pursuant to this section shall bevalid for a period not to exceed 45 days from the date of issuance and maynot be renewed.
