§ 63.2-1520. Photographs and X-rays of child; use as evidence.

In any case of suspected child abuse, photographs and X-rays of the child maybe taken without the consent of the parent or other person responsible forsuch child as a part of the medical evaluation. Photographs of the child mayalso be taken without the consent of the parent or other person responsiblefor such child as a part of the investigation or family assessment of thecase by the local department or the court; however, such photographs shallnot be used in lieu of medical evaluation. Such photographs and X-rays may beintroduced into evidence in any subsequent proceeding.

The court receiving such evidence may impose such restrictions as to theconfidentiality of photographs of any minor as it deems appropriate.
