§ 253l-5. Contract authority of Secretary and Sergeant at Arms and Doorkeeper of the Senate
(a)
Subject to regulations prescribed by the Committee on Rules and Administration of the Senate, the Secretary and the Sergeant at Arms and Doorkeeper of the Senate may—
(1)
enter into contracts for the acquisition of severable services for a period that begins in one fiscal year and ends in the next fiscal year to the same extent and under the same conditions as the head of an executive agency under the authority of section
253l of this title; and
(2)
enter into multiyear contracts for the acquisition of property and services to the same extent and under the same conditions as the head of an executive agency under the authority of section
254c of this title.
(b)
This section shall take effect on October 1, 2002, and shall apply in fiscal year 2003 and successive fiscal years.
