INSTRUCTIONS: ARIZONA RESIDENT PERSONAL INCOME TAX OPTIONAL TAX TABLES (Form 140)
Arizona residents who make less than $50,000 a year use the optional tax tables discussed in this form to determine what their tax obligation is. These tables are available on the website maintained by the Arizona Department of Revenue. Note that this document is also available as part of a larger packet containing form 140 and potentially necessary supplemental forms.
Arizona Resident Personal Income Tax Optional Tax Tables 140 Step 1: To determine your tax rate, you must first locate your taxable income as shown on line 18 of form 140. Find the pair of numbers in the left-hand column of each table which include your income.
Arizona Resident Personal Income Tax Optional Tax Tables 140 Step 2: Locate your tax by looking under the column corresponding to your filing status.
Arizona Resident Personal Income Tax Optional Tax Tables 140 Step 3: The first page contains tax rates for people making no less than $20 a year but no more than $6,000.
Arizona Resident Personal Income Tax Optional Tax Tables 140 Step 4: The second page contains tax rates for people making no less than $6,000 a year but no more than $15,000.
Arizona Resident Personal Income Tax Optional Tax Tables 140 Step 5: The third page contains tax rates for people making no less than $15,000 a year but no more than $24,000.
Arizona Resident Personal Income Tax Optional Tax Tables 140 Step 6: The fourth page contains tax rates for people making no less than $24,000 a year but no more than $33,000.
Arizona Resident Personal Income Tax Optional Tax Tables 140 Step 7: The fifth page contains tax rates for people making no less than $33,000 a year but no more than $42,000.
Arizona Resident Personal Income Tax Optional Tax Tables 140 Step 8: The sixth page contains tax rates for people making no less than $42,000 a year but no more than $48,000.
Arizona Resident Personal Income Tax Optional Tax Tables 140 Step 9: After finding your tax, enter it on line 19 of form 140.
Arizona Resident Personal Income Tax Optional Tax Tables 140 Step 10: Complete lines 20 through 59 of form 140 as instructed to determine your tax owed.
