Voting machines may be rented out or loaned to civic oreducational organizations, when, procedure.

115.271. 1. While its voting machines or marking devicesare not in use, the election authority may permit civic oreducational organizations to use the machines or devices for thepurpose of giving instructions on their use.

2. Any election authority may rent its voting machines ormarking devices to any other group for use in its elections.

3. At the discretion of the election authority, themachines or devices may be transported at the expense of theorganizations using them. The president or secretary of eachorganization using such machines or devices shall sign a receipttherefor and shall agree in writing that the organization assumesliability for any damage or loss occurring to the machines ordevices up to the time they are returned to the electionauthority and will return the machines or devices by a designatedtime.
