Does Advair cause Weight Gain?

Advair, which is a prescribed medication used for the treatment of asthma, has been linked to weight gain. Currently, there is no scientific evidence regarding Advair weight gain; however, the debate concerning Advair weight gain is one that is gaining steam within the scientific community. So, when discussing Advair weight gain, you must take whatever advice you procure with a grain of salt. It can be said that Advair weight gain is displayed on a circumstantial basis; however, the below information will help enlighten you regarding the subject.

Advair weight gain is something that is commonly discussed within the asthma community. That being said, there is very little documented evidence as to whether Advair weight gain is a legitimate concern. Studies show that side effects are very low if you rinse your mouth out after using the Advair inhaler. That being said, the answer concerning Advair weight gain is murky, for it is possible that the drug may cause a user to gain weight.

Advair weight gain is not listed as a formal side effect of the drug; however, many asthmatics have noted Advair weight gain. That being said, Advair weight gain is not exactly quantifiable because it is reported from a population of unknown size.

So, it is obvious that many Advair users have experienced a significant weight gain while on the drug, but the question remains: why would Advair use cause a spike in weight? The answer lies in Systemic Coricosteroids, which are drugs, applied orally or through an IV, that can cause systemic side effects, including weight gain.

In summation, Advair weight gain may be a possible side effect of the drug; however, in clinical trials—before Advair use was approved by the FDA—Advair weight gain was not reported as a possible side effect. With this in mind, since Advair has been made available to the public, patients have reported cases of Advair weight gain.

Because not everyone experiences Advair weight gains, it is impossible to estimate how commonly Advair weight gain occurs. If you are taking Advair please keep track of your weight; if you are experiencing Advair-induced weight gains, you should contact your medical provider or doctor.
