Department of Public Safety Background
The Department of Public Safety (DPS) works with other agencies to protect the public from acts of terrorism, natural disasters and man-made disasters. The Department provides a variety of services for other agencies, such as funding for EMT training across the State.
Alabama Department of Public Safety
The Alabama Department of Public Safety has six divisions, each of which has specific methods of maintaining public safety. The divisions work together to educate the public about safety issues, such as natural disasters, and work to help the public should an emergency occur. Although the divisions each have specific issues they handle, they work together to provide a safe environment for the citizens of the State.
Texas Department of Public Safety
The Texas Department of Public Safety issues drivers' licenses to individuals that have passed the required testing in that State. This is done to ensure that drivers are aware of the laws and can operate a vehicle safely before they are allowed on the roads.
