Discover What Civil Liberties are Gauranteed

Discover What Civil Liberties are Gauranteed In the United States, civil liberties are guaranteed and included in the United States Constitution under the Bill of Rights. Civil liberties that are granted to United States citizens are mostly contained within the first ten amendments of the Constitution, though some may also be granted through other provisions as well.

In the United States, the most prominent, and arguably the most valued, civil liberty is that of freedom of speech, which is protected by the First Amendment of the Constitution. However, other civil liberties also include freedom of religion, the right to bear arms, and the right to assembly.

Even though the Constitution does allow for certain civil liberties, there are issues concerning how they are to be applied or interpreted. For example, the right to marry is being disputed in the sense of same sex marriages and has been the topic of debate on both the political and social fronts.
