Allegra Allergy: What is Allegra Allergy Medication?

Allegra allergy medication, which goes by the generic name Fexofenadine, is a popular drug used to fight allergy symptoms associated with hay fever (red or watery eyes, runny nose, , sneezing, itching of the throat, roof of mouth and/or nose). Allegra allergy medication is recommended for adults and children 2 years and older with allergy symptoms. 

Aside from treating common allergy symptoms, Allegra allergy medication is applied to fight uritcaria—a condition that carries hives and itchy raised areas of the skin. Allegra allergy medication, because of its primary drug, Fexofenadine, belongs to the antihistamine class of medications. Allegra allergy medication is effective in treating symptoms of hay fever because it impedes the effects of histamine from forming. Histamine is a natural substance of the body that promotes allergic symptoms. 

Allegra Allergy Side Effects:

Although Allegra allergy medication is effective in treating the symptoms of hay fever, improper use—application that goes against normal use or prescription instructions—will result in Allegra Allergy side effects. Be sure to store the medication in its packaging and out of reach of children. Allegra should be stored at room temperature and away from excess moisture and heat.
